I had it shipped to my office. Now I have to sit at work for the next 5 hours before I can use it.

It's the Japanese import white Smash-branded controller, I took it out of the box and it feels great. The joystick is a little stiff but I have a feeling it will break in fast, but I love the triggers. They feel amazing.

What controller do you use? What controller do you think is best for Smash?

I only own the 3DS version so I play it on my 3DSXL.
Not the optimal way to play Smash to say the least. Still better than playing with a horizontal Wii Remote, but not by much.

At least if you ever do play the Wii U version, you can transfer to a Wii U Pro Controller fairly easily, or use your 3DS, but I wouldn't recommend that.

Whenever I play the Wii U version, I use my 3DS for lack of choice, if I try using the GC Controller, I think I'm playing Melee/PM and it never goes well.
Besides, I enjoy dying early because :GCUR::GCB: was registered as Side-Special instead of Up Special, thus not allowing me to recover.

The circlepad is great, isn't it?

Excellent, you wouldn't believe it.
At the very least, if you press :GCLT:, you know a grab is coming, unlike Melee where I still have no idea why pressing :GCZ: might either grab or buffer a light shield while on the ground, or will always attack if you're midair.

Considering :GCZ: is just a macro for :GCRT: + :GCA:, it's understandable that it does a nair while airborne. However, I'm not sure if that could justify lightshielding. I'll have to research that a bit when I get home from work.

I use a standard-issue Wii U Pro Controller.
Honestly, I prefer it to a GC Controller, it feels lighter and more accurate.

I'm looking forward to possibly buying an used Wii U soon. (Wouldn't be surprised if I didn't, though). In case I do, it comes with two Pro Controllers, which is nice.
I'll probably buy a GC adaptor someday, but my GC controller lost the rubber on the Analog Stick a few months ago. It's really uncomfortable to use, now, and I don't feel like switching it out.
