My New Brawl Mod: Brawl Neo 0.01

Is one charachter noteably not "A" tier level? If so who?

So this is version 0.01 of my Brawl Mod: Brawl Neo. Sadly I couldn't get the sc_title.pac to work so it will load like normal brawl.

So, the goal of this Brawl Mod is to just simply create a newer better brawl (hence the name Brawl Neo). Using the same brawl engine, but bringing up all the characters up to the "A" tier level. What separates this mod from other ones, is we won't be using the same cast as brawl. Some characters, will be removed; and new characters will indeed take there spots. For example in some future version of Brawl Neo, R.O.B will be replaced with Lyn and Lucas will be replaced with Kumatora...and they won't just be clones, they'll be packing their own movesets. I'm also hoping that this Mod becomes popular, and makes its way to the hearts of competitive players...who may one day even hold their own Brawl Neo tourneys.

Moving on to version 0.01, I've got 9 characters for you to fool around with.(Note Zelda and Sheik are connected)

These include:
Donkey Kong
Link
Pikachu
Ness
Bowser
Diddy Kong
Zelda
Sheik
Marth
Meta Knight

Each one of these has been balanced to what I believe is "A" tier. If you believe one character is above or below "A" tier then please leave some feedback! I'm definitely looking at all feedback, and will make changes to future versions accordingly.

*Also please proceed to vote at the top of the page, after you've played each character at least once*

You will notice that each character now has an Up Taunt Special. I won't be spoiling what these are.
Your simply going to have to download the Mod and go find out yourself!

Also please report any bugs, or issues in this thread, and thank you for choosing Brawl Neo.

Okay after playing as all the chars i have a few things that could be fixed
Links Up taunt should be lower
DK's Up taunt can be abused plus most people don't enjoy items
Pikachu's Up taunt stun time should be lower
Nesses Up b is forever i don't know if this a glitch
Other than these^ I really liked everything especially what has been done with Zelda's down b it seems like it can be a really good recovery move.Looking forward to your next update :)

Thanks for the post! As for the feedback:

-I'll wait to see what a few more people say about the amount link heals before changing it.

-DKs Barrel summon takes quite a few frames, and is easily interrupted. The barrel can actually be used for spacing. I will keep a close eye on it though.
Right after the summon, you should try hitting B+Down, or just a quick Neutral B, and you will find that you can send he barrel soaring in many directions!

-Pikachus stun time leaves him just enough time to get one good attack in, but again I'll keep an eye on it, if it becomes abused. This move was actually based on the pokemon move: Thunder Wave!

-Ness has infinte B+UPs the trade off is that you take 5% damage each time you do it. Also note if you collide with a wall, or are not quick enough on the input...you will fall right down!

Sure, do you have any experience creating stages, or perhaps textures?

I have attempted to make a 2d stage once it didn't work out so well and i can attempt making a texture.

I'll check this out tomorrow and I'll give you results, I might even show you what I've done with Mario and Luigi. Besides, I made most of the characters that I have to be A-Tiered.

Hey i was just wondering (for my self) if i wanted to take mario's pump model how could i attach it to him there separate files would i be able to attach it in brawlbox?

Most likely in the MarioMotionEtc.pac file. If FLUDD isn't in there, then I can't help you there. I made my Mario so that his fireball lasts longer and is a bit bouncier. As for FLUDD, Longer time to charge, but has farther range, deals damage, and has better propulsion.

Okay thanks ive been looking around the motion.pac and found nothing how do you make 3d stages? im quite interested in stages (it seems simpler than importing a model)

Okay here it is hitboxes wont be fixed cus im not using this for anything lol but i can switch animations...not sure about making whole new originals but its possible

Here are some things I need a bit of help on. Even if you get 1 of these Yogibur it really helps alot!

- Putting Marios Flood on Luigi
- Making the Villager from smash 4's texture over toon link.
- My custom logo isn't working, so clearly I'm putting sc_title.pac in the wrong folder. Currently in menu2
- I can't get lyn to have links bow
- I don't know how to code randomization in PSA, this one is a really big help if you tell me or know how. For example something a basic as having a 1/3 chance to generate a single item between 3 items.
- Also I'm removing lucario not sure who will replace him yet, but it will be a Pokemon
- I can't seem to figure out how to replace the character icons and names at the results screen. Example try to change ROBs gyro symbol to the fire emblem one.

And Sluigi reconfigure the stages to be more competitive. I would like you to do so lol. If your knowledgeable enough, start out by removing the platforms from smashville and battlefield. If you want a real challenge, make pictochat not make any drawings. And I know these are all possible, because I've seen them done before.

3D stages aren't as easy as what other people may think it is. Although I made a Battlefield that has a bigger base and the platforms animate. I was going to add another moving platform above the original in Smashville. I don't want too many FD clone stages.

This would require a model swap we could get a poltergeist model and add it to his back and make it have somewhat a similar effect to ness's side b
the last 2 things you need done seem simple and i think sc_title.pac needs to be named sc_title_en.pac
I have an idea for lucario also

Lol i don't suppose you want to attempt that model swap?

sc_title_en.pac did not work.As for Lucario, actually I was going to go with Darkrai. However there is some lighting issue with the modle I'm using for him currently.

Oh yes i wanted to make a list of character who i really think need to get better move-sets will work on these one at a time in the future but heres a list
-Lucario(Mewtwo/Darkrai/?)
-Lucas(clone of ness)
-Olimar(Unless replaced)
-Pokemon Trio
-Ganon(clone of CF)
-Sonic
-Bowser
-Mr G/W
Also I was thinking of making Marth and Roy like Wario I could make a split csp like this(EDIT: Actully no reason to be split)

-Lucario is looking strong to be replaced by Darkrai, who will have dark and sleep based moves
-Lucas will be replaced by kumatora who has a much diffrent moveset than lucas, save for the B+UP
-Olimar will have some minor changes. Starting with his god awful B+UP.
-Pokemon Trio will each be getting their own B+Down and can switch via taunts.
-Ganon should be done around version 0.04 he isn't a clone anymore (:
-Sonic will hopefully be removed, as I'm trying to keep a nintedo only cast. This goes for snake as well.
-Bowser is already in Brawl Neo? And he's really good...go try him again lol.
-Mr G/W will be back.
-Ike will return, he has better recovery options let's say...a new B neutral, and a few other minor tweaks that make him more badass and compatible to the "A" tier.

Also were you working on a stage? I looked in the adventure folder and i opened it in brawlbox if your not it looks like a balanced stage that could go over 75m or something .rels don't work so well with my game for some reason.

SSE actually has some balanced areas and since its complete we should grad one or two stages from it. Also I'll add the Fire Emblem emblem to R.O.B.

I can't find those files unfortunately I've looked threw most of the files already if theres something you want me to do that's simple like give Lyn Links bow animation i can do that (the animation not the actual move)

speaking of stocks...actually theres something you can do. After picking your char then hitting start, you go to stage select and see the little stock icons in the corner. See if you can change those!

Lol nevermind then. I can see that you really want to help alot, but it's seems I just can't find the right thing for you. That's why I'm going to give you one specific task, you only need a SD card to do. I would like you to make demos showcasing the changes from brawl. See the balance brawl dojo.

So many ways, after a match simply save the video. Then you can use youtube to directly trim the video and such. I look forward to what you can do.
