I want to improve my Marth game, and I've decided that the best way to do that is to record some matches and get some constructive criticism from the Smash community. Therefore, I've recorded some matches with my brother and posted them on YouTube. Please note that my brother only plays Smash for fun and therefore doesn't drillshine or waveshine.

The things I think I need to improve on are:
- Edgeguarding with the mindset of effectiveness > style
- Spacing with dashdancing
- Short-hop FAir -> waveland
- Chainthrowing space animals from 0% - death
- Controlling UTilts so that I don't USmash instead
- Timing edgehopped DAir on space animals

I suicided in some matches; to tell you honestly, I don't do that too often, so I don't consider that as something I can improve on. Is there anything else I should add to the list above?

And even if you didn't watch any of the videos, thanks for taking the time to read those boring paragraphs :) .

The only real problem I see with your edgegaurding is the fact that your trying to do it with style. Honestly, I think you need to STOP. You saved your bro a handful of times by NAir, etc. when a simple edgehog would have worked. Your flashiness is really hurting your edge game. Don't be flashy, just get the job done.

Otherwise your Marth is fine. Maybe just some spacing problems, but nothing that can't be fixed with practice. And do try some more grabbing; Fox is really easy to combo out of throws.

Also, it's hard to really critique when your opponent is on a signifigantly lower level of skill than yourself.

Nice Marth.

i watched your first match and saw that you tried tilt+A after your Up throw. so a tip: when you push up to throw, keep your finger in that position on the joystick (above the origin) and just push A to do the Tilt+A

i think you should put vids of you versus an opponent that is closer to your skill level.
by watching these vids i can say you have a nice fancy marth, lol.
seriously - it'll be easier to judge and give critics when the match isnt that one sided and no one is sandbagging

I thought that quantity would equalize quality, but I guess not >.>. I'll try to record some matches of me playing with a better opponent like B4tt1enet. Thanks for commenting though :) .
