My MAIN Difficulty

Hello all, I've always had difficulty picking a main but I've finally narrowed it down to two characters. The two I wish to choose between are Dedede and Wario. I'm a lot more comfortable with Dedede currently, and I really love his range, multiple jumps, edgeguarding, waddle dashing, and the fact that I'm forced to play well or I get bopped. On the other hand Wario is quite interesting to play and I really like reading opponents- Wario excels at punishing off of reads, and he's great at forcing the opponent into a readable situation. I also have oodles of fun with his multitude of movement options and bizarre, unique moves. Anyone have any recommendations or information that could help me in my choice? If it helps at all I'm planning to make my secondary Mario since I already know him decently well and can fall back upon him if needed.

Maining DDD is certainly not an easy road. He is super fun, and he doesn't have to push a buttload of buttons, but you gotta be smart all the time and not make many mistakes at all. He's a more patient and cerebral character overall.

Wario is a bit more lenient with the mistakes and has a really fun, fast, creative flow, but his recovery is sorta bad. Well at least it's worse than DDD's.

They play pretty differently from each other so I guess you just have to ask yourself which style you like better. They're both capable of doing well in tournaments all by themselves, though I feel like Wario has an easier time doing that, but it depends on who you ask.

Interesting- your analysis was actually extremely helpful. Unless something unexpected occurs in the near future I think I'll main Dedede. The fact that I have to think so much while playing will likely make my skill at the game constantly increase. In addition when I was playing Wario I noticed that I developed some nasty habits like side-b'ing far too much since my friend had trouble with it, meaning that I go a bit on autopilot while playing Wario. I also have a long history of liking Dedede's playstyle and literally every move is satisfying to hit. Thanks a bunch for the information, it really helped me out!
