My First Sprite

Hey everyone! This is my FIRST sprite. Criticism is welcome, but please don't be too harsh XD. Ok, it is an Umbreon, and I tried to make it a water type. I posted the original and the re-color. I did not finish I just started. Again, it is my first one so its not going to be too great.

Well, it's actually not exceptionally good.

Even for something that is suppose to be just a recolor.

Cyan and blue aren't exactly that close of shades to use as you are.

I'd say more, but you aren't finished yet...I dunno, what are we suppose to criticize on anyway with only a couple second of work done on it? It's already going in the wrong direction though.


It looks like a couple seconds work in MS Paint...

The recolor is really stretched out...and wierd. It could be better, and if you like making Pokemon sprites go to the PC and visit the Sprite Critique thread. A lot of the really good spriters are there.

Look at the colors of a vaporeon, which already IS a water version of Umbreon.

Try dupicating the layer that Umbreon was on extracting a channel and multiplying,
