Shutting down by saying "firefox has stopped working, windows is searching for a solution for this problem"...10 seconds later "firefox needs to close, windows will notify you if there is a solution" or sumthing like that, this happens very often too. Like every 5-15 mins.

That's pretty strange, brawlpro.

I've never seen that error message before, so I apologize if what I say has nothing to do with the problem.

My first idea is that FireFox was taking up too much memory, and Windows was trying to free up some memory, but couldn't (not that Windows is actually smart enough to make a difference there).

How much RAM do you have in your computer, brawlpro? Also, is your hard drive packed tight?

No no no. If it were a RAM problem then FireFox won't even start.

And if Windows were trying to free some RAM (which I doubt, because it does a very complex algorithm in order to switch in/out blocks from your RAM so your programs are running, slow... but running) it will start closing inactive programs.

Did you try scanning your PC? If you don't find anything, re-install Firefox and tell us what happened.

Not necessarily. FireFox uses more memory as time goes on. It's not nearly as bad as IE, but still a bit. So it could be under the limit when it stars, but as it uses all the services and caches more pages, it could go over.

Of course, I'm not saying my general idea is right. But I believe it still at least makes sense.

Brawlpro, see what happens if you just start it up and leave it open for a while. Then, start it up and see what happens if you make a random Google search and go crazy clicking on link after link, opening a new tab each time. While you're doing this, don't do anything else on your computer, like listening to music. Then give us the results. But of course, only do this if you think there's a reasonable chance that I could be right (and Eight Sage could be wrong).
