I am a big NOOB to smash competitive. I've never done a tournament, and I am currently trying to find a tourney near my area.

The problem is, I live in colorado, and I have NO idea what they mean by "pot". WHY DID THIS HAVE TO BE LEGALIZED!?!?

Please clarify, by pot do they mean it as if you put money down and whoever wins gets the money, or do they LITERRALY mean the drug... This is why I hate my state.

The pot is the pool of money from which the prize money is drawn. You didn't seriously think that this referred to the drug, did you?

What...

If they're referring to the drug, they'll either say weed, bud, or if they're REALLY OLD they'll say just "pot".

If they're referring to the money that gets added to the prizes for the event, they'll probably say "pot bonus".

Don't feel bad, someone tried to sell me their wii the other day and I replied "Sorry, I don't smoke"

I'm sorry, are you complaining about the legalization of God's herb? I too live in Colorado and haven't had a single complaint.
But the term "pot" is used all over the place. When gambling, the money that people are betting is known as the pot as well. It's just the winnings, no big deal.
