Im not sure, but I think running " chkdsk /f " will work, I'm pretty sure it repairs windows files. Try it on your C: drive.

I had something similiar to this, just try to find the file & delete it. That's how i fixed my problem.

I am not sure if this is gonna work with a System32 file tho.

I tried doing that, but I just got this...

"Chkdsk cannot run because the volume is in use by another process. Would you like to schedule this volume to be checked the next time the system restarts?"

I have no idea what that means...

When your computer boots, try to restart it to an earlier date. Usually if it something like that happens, they give you options to try to restore. If not, try booting in safe mode with a command prompt and running a virus scan or a check disk function from there. Oddly enough, you can do what I do: wait a bit. You'd be surprised how often problems work themselves out by doing...well, nothing. Everything I've mentioned can be found via google, so don't think you can't do anything to improve your situation, you can make things better :)

Well, looking at this logically, here's the problem.

Windows tries to load the system file C:/WINDOWS/system32/guvuwini.dll.

It can't find it. Either it's been moved, renamed, or deleted.

So, 2 things I can think of.
1: You have a virus messing with your system files.
2: You've been messing around with your system files

Do this: Open up the file manager, and go to My Computer/C:/Windows/System32, and see if you can find a file named guvuwini.dll.

Also, what version of Windows are you running? If you don't know, go to run, type winver, and hit enter. If you have a start button search box, do it in their.

Basically, you're using files from that partition, so the computer can't run checkdisk.

Say yes and restart your computer, it should run.

Possibly a virus messing with your system, possibly a program messing with the windows config, see if checkdisk works first and do a full system scan in safe mode.

I had a similar problem which later turned out to be the result of a virus. Have you noticed any other changes to your computer?

Well, I got this really bad virus that pretended to be Antivirus software once that corrupted my files, wouldn't let me go on the Internet usually, and even when it did, it would constantly interrupt and try to force me to buy the software without giving me the option to say no.

But I beat it by using a System Restore. However, recently, my computer has had trouble renewing it's IP Adress when it needed to, but that was solved to just by doing nothing.

I do fear that I may have messed around with it once, but I can't quite remember. I just remember going on a deleting spree once on the "Add/Remove Programs" list when I was trying to figure out why my computer was running so slowly.

Do this: Open up the file manager, and go to My Computer/C:/Windows/System32, and see if you can find a file named guvuwini.dll.

Alright, I'll check that.

Version 5.1

If it says that, then it usually means that an antivirus program deleted it. I had the same problem with olepro32 a while back, but I fixed it by downloading the file here.

I'll check it out!

I can't do Safe Mode. My F8-F10 key (whichever one is required to do Safe Mode) doesn't work at all. I'll try everything else though.

You just click yes when it asks you that. Next time you start your computer it will run a program for ~30 minutes, checking for errors.
