My BRSTMs are like 2000 KB, how to shrink them?

There is no brstm in existence that's 44kb. If you want a smaller size, you'd want to decrease the volume of yours, or loop it properly instead of unnecessarily making it 8+ minutes long.

I'm also a beginner like you, and my BRSTMs are anywhere from 6MB to 12MB. The ones in PM are around 4 to 6MB, each, the smallest being like 2MB. I think you're doing fine.

I also have a question. How does one know how loud to make the songs? I can't open up the official PM brstms in audacity or anything to compare the volumes.

Oh, it must be because I cranked up the volume for each of them by 6 decibels. But otherwise... it's too quiet. I heard the volume normalizer code broke with 3.5. So we need a new one.

If you could compress a BRSTM to 44kb and have Brawl's audio quality then BRSTM would replace mp3 or ogg as the new standard for audio compression. Not sure where you got that number but it's way off.

I see. So is it likely that increasing all the songs by 6 decibels is what increased the file size? Is there any solution for volume normalizing at this point?

Mp3? Ogg? Flac is all there is. Go big or go home!

You're fine. If you actually had 44kb audio files, then THAT would be cause for concern.

Trial and error. I've been doing BRSTMs for about a year now and I can tell you that different stages seem to have different levels preset. Take an estimated guess, load it up and do a test run, then adjust.

Not an audiophile, I have 4TBs of space and I still think FLAC is a waste of it
