Okay, first, here's a list of all characters announced. Excluding Snake because he'll more than likely be Unlockable.

With all that, let's factor in OMG Guaranteed returning veterans(Starter-wise)

And now we factor in an Animal Crossing Newcomer(I'll use Animal Crosser)

With all that done, we have a total of 21 Characters excluding transformations.

Hmm, I'd say there's room for 1-2 former Melee Unlockables, like

Marth
Falco

After that, we now have 23 starting characters(Again, excluding transformations)

A reasonable amount of starters, right? Right.

Now. We're expecting around... 40 characters? And since the unlockable amount MUST be lower than the starting amount...

23+19 = 42

42 is a VERY reasonabel amount of characters, if I do say so myself.

So, yeah, that's just my brief analysis of the possible starting roster.

And on a related note, congrats to you future Lucas users!

Really, no one cares about ONE person's predictions for starting rosters.
This is just a warning because I have a feeling you're about to get flamed.

i dissagree, my thread starting roster inference on the first page i say has a better put together starter list. but i do agree with around 40.

42? I expect no more than 35. Also, we don't know if any of the characters shown will be unlockable (except Snake). Finally, why Marth and Falco who coincidentally are both top tiers, what about Game & Watch or Dr. Mario?

I think you're all missing the real reason 42 is the best number for the Brawl roster.
Didn't you know it's the MEANINNG OF LIFE, THE UNIVERSE, AND EVERYTHING?
Obviously, Sakurai knows this, and has designed Brawl accordingly.

Honestly, I wish there were 100 characters. It would make the game so much more interesting since there'd be so many different ones to chose from. I want the character count to be ridiculous. I LOVE IT!!!!

Daisy, an original Mario character, and Lip make you puke when BOWSER JR. is there among them? Seriously, Bowser jr. SUCKS and is NOT worthy of brawl. sorry.
Also, I feel the same concerning Krystal, she is a really lame character, but I'm positive she'll be in. unfortunately.
