I'm sure this theory has been thought of before, but if not, then that's good I can make some interesting discussion about it.

Anyway, most people are disappointed with what they've been hearing in the way of music on the site. From quality to it being midi to it just generally being a sucky tune. Well, let's think about this for a minute. There's a specific reason why there's been no mention of the quality of the tracks yet.

As you all know, last year, Sakurai blatantly confirmed the tracks to be Orchestrated and everything (LIVE mind you, I'm sure you all know this already). And, released the track we heard in the trailer. Since then, we've yet to hear anything more about this live orchestra. Until, we got the Battlefield music. Probably the best song or one of the best songs on the site right now, it set the stone for what we could possibly expect in the way of the quality of the tracks.

Fast forward a couple of updates and people are displeased. Well...not much you can do about that, but, some began to question the live orchestra information claiming that, this would turn out to be like Twilight Princess again where it was originally confirmed to be done by a live orchestra but then canceled in the long run.

But! I believe otherwise, this is where the theory is, though it isn't really a theory more or less, it's logic.

There's a reason why Sakurai called these tracks "samples" from the beginning. No, it's not for the length of the songs, nope, it isn't for that purpose. It's for the purpose of the quality of the songs. He's been implying that, the songs won't exactly sound like this in the final game. Let me use an example.

You know those food samples people some times give out at malls in the food courts? Are the food samples a whole meal? Or are they bite sized? If you knew it was bite sized you're right! However, the quality doesn't compare to a full fledged meal so you're somewhat disatisfied with it even though it still tasted quite good.

This is the same case with the music. Sakurai is giving us bite sized samples of them, although quite nice sounding, they're somewhat disappointing. Why? Because they're done in midi and accompany some synths. Well, what did you expect? They're SAMPLES! That's why they're called samples.

You won't hear the quality of a live orchestra until the game comes out. You'll just have to put up with the midi for now, as these songs are just samples. Bite sized samples that aren't quite as satisfying as a whole meal is.

Hopefully...this hasn't been said before. If it has, oh well; I tired I suppose. Still, makes for some good discussion, yes?

it seems logical enough.

i sure hope so, because with a musician line-up that this game has, it deserves an excellent soundtrack.

our "sample" have not been spectacular. I sure hope a live orchestra stays in.

Bite sized refers to something being small enough to be eaten in one bite. It has to do with the SIZE(thus bite-SIZE) of the sample. So calling the music samples bite-sizes and then going on about you're reasons about quality isn't very logical.

But yea, I actually really like alot of the music. and if played along with a muted Nintendo-world trailer, all the music is pretty boner'tastic.

Yea I also don't think all the commotion surrounding the music quality is necessary. I agree...I don't think we're getting the original tracks. We'll hear the amazing music soundtrack (done by a live orchastra) when the game is released.

Exactly what I've said before.
Right now, we're not hearing the final, in game music. These are just short samples to get us wanting more. I'm hoping, and it seems logical to think that when the game is finished, the majority of the music will be orchestrated.
