Anyone else here looking forward to "Mushroom Men: The Spore Wars" coming out on Wii in October?

I was looking through the new Nintendo Power today, and they had an ad for it, and i thought it looked interesting. Then I noticed in the bottom corner it said "Featuring music by Les Claypool". Being a big fan of Claypool, and his band Primus, it made me even more interested.

After looking at screenshots, and checking out the website, it looks like it could be a really good game, with some creative ideas, involving customized weapons made from everyday objects such as razor blades.

Ehhh... I'm kinda on the fence about this one. I've seen a couple of trailers and read a few features on it, and it just hasn't yet amazed me. It just seems a bit...gooftastic, and not in a good way. More like a "really trying too hard to be funny" way....

Who knows though, it might turn out really fantastic. Maybe.

...Okay, probably not. But decent isn't out of the question.

Can anybody say Alone in the Dark? Don't get me wrong, it's a cool idea, but hopefully they manage to make this so that by the time you finish making your weapon, you're not almost dead from some monster attacking you.

I agree with derik on this one. It just seems decent right now. It doesn't stand out to me at all.

Through the beauty of these screenshots, I finally was able to view the game at something other than Youtube-resolution, and it's not a bad looking game... Still, you're playing as a mushroom....

I dunno, maybe it'll be the Wii killer app, and it'll have eleventy-bajillion man online multiplayer deathmatch. But, again, probably not.

But, I'm glad to see another Claypool fan. It seems as if we're the only ones who would post a thread about this game. I'm anticipating this over every other game these last two quarters of the year.

The video I saw made it look like a Disney game, maybe if I see more footage I will be able to make a better judgment but from the information I have I'm not sure what to make of it.

Disney games can be good o___o; (If they're partnered with Square Enix >___>; )
