Multi-shine technique problems (rough thumbz)

I'll start by saying I'm not trying to make this the typical "how do I multishine?" thread because there are tons of those. It's kind of a specific problem I have. So I've been grinding out tech skill practice lately, but grounded double shine still rarely comes out. I have a hard time sliding my finger over from B to Y and B to X (still can't decide which one I want to use because I have trouble either way). My thumb feels as though it's rough/sticky all the time and it gets stuck and just doesn't make it across the buttons fast enough every time I try it. Is there some sort of other technique that I could do? I'm not trying for anything crazy fancy like triple+ shines. Just basic double shine -> JC grab type of stuff. Any suggestions/tips?

Is not really THAT hard, if you can SHDL with fox you have all the speed you need and you're probably messing up with the timing. Multishining with falco feels a bit weird unlike fox wich is just pure speed and seems like you don't need much timing, just a rhythm and fast thumb motion.

And if you're just into double shines, then again, is not that difficult, the initial shine you do without jumping first makes it even easier, because you only need to jump cancel the shine once unlike if you start with X or Y and then B then you actually need to jc shine 2 times.

Good old hard work and determination is what will give what you seek. Start practicing slowly without even playing, just grab your controller and press X/Y w.e you use for jumping and then B, and do it over and over again for 3 minutes straight, then start increasing the speed gradually, do this for about 15 to 20 minutes then take a break. Do this for some days, maybe 1 or 2 weeks but you should start seing result after a couple of days (I'm asuming you have decent tech skill). Once you got confident with your speed you can try it in game, or you can try it in game after having practiced for some minutes.

That's how I did it, but I really want to get to the point where I can do over 5 with consistency.

Yeah it really isn't that hard at all, I know. I can shine OoS grounded easily which is why it baffles me that I struggle with this because I obviously know the timing. The problem more for me is the feeling of my thumb and how it doesn't really glide over the buttons, but more so kind of sticks to the buttons (kind of hard to explain) and gets slowed down. That's another thing: I can totally SHDL with Fox consistently which is yet another reason I am confused on how my thumb motion isn't working. Thanks for the advice though. I'm gonna keep grinding out the multishines.

(I'm asuming you have decent tech skill).
Also, yes my tech skill is above average, but I guess I've been concentrating more on wavelands on platforms, shine grabs, and wavedash OoS lately instead of pressure tech skill like multishines. Turning on the Cube now.

double shines are very useful for shield pressure, it throws there timing off when they try to wait after the shine and grab you. If you already have the speed then disregard everything I said about how you should practice, you just need to focus on learning the timing and the only way to do that is by playing the game.

On a side note, I used to do it with the control stick years ago, like down b + then flick up then down + b again, is kinda cheap method but it might be the kind of "quick fix and get the job done" you're looking for, lol =P
