How do you wavedash and SHFFL? I can only do either one. How do you set up your fingers to do both? I need to tap very lightly on X to jump, and the only way I can do that, is if I use my pointer finger -.-. Besides, wavedashing is hard enough as Falco. I've been playing him for around 2 weeks. I switch alot, though I know not to. I was Marth last, then CF.

I can get the hang of SHFFL'ing quite easily, except sometimes I shield into the ground -.-. I'm getting a dazzle recorder before SSBB comes out to record matches for both games. I looked at players like Forward and Bombsoldier, and I'm not as good as them...much at all. Compared to them, I'm around 5/10.

I often spam SHFFL dairs, and spike frequently. I'm forced to practice on lvl 9's, and that means I won't see how hard KO'ing someone is when they tech or meteor cancel my dair. I also want to know useful edgeguarding techniques. I know you can just backwards SH on the ledge, and then use control stick left to get off, then use second jump to do a bair or a nair to hit them back, and that's about it, with the exception of forcing their second jump to go by executing a fast SHL.

I'm decent enough to beat many people in my school, but I'mm far away from being pro. If you felt tl;dr, then I'll summarize what I typed...though I'm not sure why I typed this in the first place <.<.

#1 - How do you SHFFL and wavedash \ where do you place your fingers?
#2 - How to break the dair addiction?
#3 - Edgeguard techniques?
#4 - How can I practice efficiently?

1. To SHFFL I use my thumb on y, and A. Fastfall with left thumb, and L-cancel with L. To wavedash I jump with y, angle with the left thumb, and airdodge with R.
2. Don't use Dair for a tew matches. This forces you to be creative and find other things that work. Also watch videos to understand what works.
3. Edgeguarding is very broad based on your character and theirs. Understand the options for both players and you will figure it out.
4. to practice techniques just stay in training mode or VS. against a still human if you need the C-stick for something. Best way to practice is by playing people (preferably better than you ).
and in comparison to Bombsoldier or Forward, i'm guessing you're about 1-2. Not to be mean, but Smash is more than just a few techniques. Pros like bombsoldier and Forward are just that, Pros. Don't expedt to become vreat overnight

yea, really confused ><;

how to wavedash/shffl?
do wavedash.. i use my thumb on x and my pointer on R :$ to shffl.. same thing, short hop with my thumb, move my thumb to the c-stick, go whatever direction, fastfall it, and then press R with my pointer (yea i use R for everything, i never touch L)

how do you break the dair addiction?
erm, stop using it so much, against a human it get's predictable, and you can just get shield grabbed (unless you like..try to aim behind them with your dair, so that they can't shield grab you) but neways.. just try to approach with a grab? or a shffl'd nair?

Edgeguard techniques?

all kinds of things.. =p you could wait on the edge, when they get near jump off and bair? against a fox/falco that is trying to sweetspot the edge you could dsmash or do a forward tilt, aiming it downward so that you do a low kick. If a fox/falco is trying to get onto the stage with a forward B you could try to catch them with a bair, nair, or even stand backwards and pop them up with a utilt, then follow it up with a bair.

How can you practice?
well, tbh, computers aren't going to help you, if you don't have someone to play with, or if you don't go to tournaments, sadly your not really gonna get good. You can only get so good against computers, and then once you start doing really good, once again.. it doesn't make you a good player against humans. Fighting the computers, you get used to their movements, and their reactions. So when you fight an actual human, you'll be expecting the reactions that a computer would do, or you'll do things to someone, that a computer would normally never get out of. For me, if i don't have anyone to play with, i usually just practice my tech skill. Practicing things i havn't really mastered yet.

things you could practice:
wavedash
shffl
shl
ldhl (ledge hop double laser) <-- good if they're a good distance away from the edge.
reverse shl
fire bird stall <-- i don't really use it.. i just think of it as something flashy
phantasm stall <-- same as fire bird
jc shines <-- yea same thing, i don't really find it useful, just something to do when you kill someone

note: if you need help on knowing how to do any of those, just PM me, i'm not gonna be a fruit cake and tell you 'OMG USE THE SEARCH ENGINE' :X lol, well anyways, yea i'm pretty sure i've covered everything... later

Wow, the second guy pretty much covered it. I'm trying to SH with my thumb on X, and it's working pretty decently, but my thumbs have always been button mashers...

I forgot to ask about DI'ing. The only thing I do is Shine a horizontal smash to cancel, then I use my second jump, fastfall a little, and then forward B. I've also done where you're on the ledge, and you fast fall then jump periodically and then finally get higher then the ledge and then do a forward B.

I'm basically a noob pro. I know everything and how to do it, but can't execute it well enough in matches.

I played Halo and SSBM at my friends house last night, and they are always too easy. I want to enter a pro tourney, but I need to get good, and the only way I can do that is if I play pros, and none of my friends are good, and they only way I play good, is if I enter a tourney, which I'm not good enough to play in yet.....PARADOX.

So, thanks for the help, and you have fun reading my Great Wall of Text I'm building currently called, "Spoiler free unlockable guide."

lol :$ im a little confused on what your asking me on that post.. but uhm, about your problem with having noone to play with, you could always try meeting up with somebody near by? try to look on some of those character finders. Like, in the falco threads, there's 1, i know there's a doc 1, marth, link, ganon.. and i dunno who else, but just check there for people in your city, or a close by city thats in your state, and try to meet up :X
