Firstly, I know this isn't the answer you are hoping for. The best advise I can personally offer is to take a small break from playing and/or practising. This isn't to say distance yourself from the game completely. Continue to watch Melee on YouTube, read about Melee online and think about Melee in your spare time. I image this is a game you are passionate about after all.

Taking a small break, even if only for a couple days or a week, can really refresh your motivation and genuinely improve your game play. All too often I feel I've stopped improving only to later realise it was just that I'm doing the same thing over and over again. When you pick the game back up you'll be coming in hungry to play and pesky habits that you normally fall into won't seem so appealing.

Of course this is all just speaking from my experience. Maybe if you truly don't want to stop playing you can find a way to play differently for a while, like picking up a secondary character.

Best of luck from one fellow blue bird to another.

Pick up a different game or activity and come back to Melee later!
