MOST custom music works....

So I've been using Project M for about a week, and I've been putting in custom music. I think I've added about 10 tracks in. But for whatever reason, some of them do not work. What's weird is that for example, one time I added a song to replace Route 209, and replace Excite Trucks at the same time. But only the replacement for Excite Trucks loaded up in Project M. But to add another layer, I have a folder on my computer that has all of the .brtsm files, so I copied them all in again, to see what that would do, and new a few different ones are working as well. Any idea what's going on?

EDIT: Hackless 3.02 and the music is the only addition I've done to the game.

Now another layer to this popped up. One of the custom tracks I am almost positive was working last time I turned the game on, and the next time it did not have that track. Instead, it had the standard track.

My advice: make sure all the brstms are named correctly. Also, how are you loading the game/what are the contents of your SD card?

Are you using homebrew or hackless? If you're using homebrew, try setting the Ocarina hooktype to AXNextFrame. That solved any problems like this I was having. (don't know if this is possible with the standard PM launcher, but you could also replace it with GeckoOS without installing homebrew)

I'm using the hackless version, and I'm loading the game with just the SD card and going to the Custom Stage menu. And maybe some might be named wrong, but when it works once and not the next time, I wouldn't think it would be that.
Although, if I go to the Custom Stage area too fast in Brawl, it freezes. Could it maybe have not loaded all the music yet? As for the content I have on the SD card, it is the same as when I downloaded it, with the exception of the "Sound" folder, which has my added ones. If you want a picture, I'll upload it.

Nope, I don't have the hacked version. Thanks for trying, though. Sorry for not saying in the first post.

The reason it freezes if you go to custom stages is because the custom stage the game loads to execute the Project M loader gets partially loaded. As for the actual issue, I really can't tell you anything besides try using homebrew instead of hackless.

You could try swapping the Project M loader for Gecko OS - take the boot.elf file from Gecko1931/Gecko1931/HBC/Gecko1931, and place it over the PM boot.elf (it should be in either the SD card root, or /apps/ProjectM). When it loads up, go to Config Options, and change Gecko Hooktype to AXNextFrame, and SD Cheats to Yes. Save, go back to the main Gecko menu, and launch the game. This doesn't install any homebrew, so you can continue to use the hackless version.

Well, I tried deleting all the tracks I put on again, and putting them in one by one, which seemed to do the trick. All of them are working now. I really have no idea why this worked, because this is the third time I've tried it, but the first where I did it one at a time.
