Monster Hunter 3, anyone?

So I've been playing Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate pretty regularly with a buddy, but we're getting to the point where trying to duo some of the fights is either a marathon or unreasonably tough (probably doesn't help that my screen's the gamepad, because this chair/desk is/are just so dang comfy). So I'm wondering if anyone else plays or has a dude sittin' around Hunter Rank 1 or 2.

I understand if you don't want overpowered weapons to ruin the experience. At my end of the spectrum 5 hits can kill a Rathian. But I can wear low rank armor if you want that to help assuming you'll still have me.

I'm part of a Monster Hunter community that plays regularly so I have reasons to be that high. If you have time you can join me in last server on the last lobby which is Help D Lobby 10 where me and the community usually gather. Though you may not want to bother most of them because you know, they want to hunt the higher rank monsters.

I started playing a few days ago currently at the mogavillage 2 star quests i've done all currently available quests in Mogavillage except capture arzuros (currently doing).

My main weapon is the lance and my secondary is the long sword

I ended up reaching HR ~230 then deleted my file... then I helped my little brother reach ~200. Monster Hunter is evil.

Not terribly interested in playing again, lest further feed the time sink. Keep in mind that it takes about 10,000 hours to become professional at something, opportunity costs and such.

I wish monsters had health bars

They do have health bars if you hack the games real HUD.

At the same time though, don't you think monsters having health bars ruins the fun? There's no pressure when you see your progress, you can just calmly play and wither down the monster knowing how far you're going. Without a health bar, there's more incentive to be on offense and there's more sense of urgency in fighting rather than taking down a robot with set health.

It's just how I feel.

Wail on him until he starts to limp, then you can usually go in for the capture. If you're unsure, beat on him a bit more to make it easier.

I think he means his entire body just falls into the ground meaning tranq bombs are impossible to hit, haha.

I know how to do it problem is every time he keeps healing as soon as he gets to that point by eating the meat pile and with all the other jaggia's hanging around I never get the chance to set the trap.

Oh, fair enough, yeah. I forget if little monsters trigger traps, but if they don't, you could always try setting it early.

Or bring a big enough weapon and just sweep the little such'n'suches out of the way.

The game is cool but the interface could be a lot better. A FRIGGIN LOT BETTER than the actual krap it is. I spent too much time only to decipher it trying to not lose my sight in the process. Goodamn it!!
