Modifying airdodge?

I installed project M and loved the new changes, however I wanted to be able to toggle Brawl/Melee air dodge (probably set as a handicap, removing the stock control feature). If I wanted to do this, how would I get started?

I'm currently downloading Brawl Box to see if I can make some desired edits that way so I'll try that when I get home but I thought it would be a good idea to ask first in case this easier than I might anticipate.
