Hello. Mod noob here,

To what extent can the stages be modded? I want to be able to put images or videos in the background of the stage, and I'm not meaning only image or videos files already in the game.

Thanks.

You'd probably find more help under the customized content subforum.

I'm no pro when it comes to this stuff either, but the first thing you should have is Brawl Box. It's an invaluable resource when it comes to Brawl modding. I'd recommend fiddling around in the files of the PM stages with Brawl Box. Getting familiar with the files is important to know what youre doing.
Hope that helps. Lmk if you have any more questions!

Backgrounds often include a bunch of 3D models, so it's a bit more complicated than just replacing a single image. That said, the above post is right. BrawlBox is the program that lets you replace image/model/song/character/stage/etc. files, and the user interface is friendly+intuitive enough for beginners to teach themselves about what each file does.

You'll need to learn a few quick things first though. Even if it's not what you want to change, look up tutorials on how to replace PM character/stage portraits via BrawlBox (not the "Brawl Character/Stage/Song Managers"). They should be just a few steps-long, straightforward, and enough to cover the basics.
