The 'Dark Horse' TheReflexWonder showed off his great Pokemon Trainer prowess and earned top 25 with his low tier characters (with help from Sheik as well). I felt the need to discuss with him his views on the MLG tournament scene, the games that came with it, and his overall view on the Brawl community.

Roxy : So easy enough question, how did you feel about MLG Raleigh as a tournament?

Reflex : First off, I wasn't at MLG Columbus, so I don't know how it varied from that. However, I enjoyed that it felt more streamlined and less strict than at Orlando. They were hardcore about a lack of friendlies at Orlando, while they had ample time for it at Raleigh. The tournament didn't drag on. And outside of obvious seeding issues (which is just the way MLG does it, I guess), there were no real problems.

Roxy : I've heard a lot about Cheese recently, from a large deal of members; by any chance do you know exactly what happened?

Reflex : Oh, yeah. I was there. He got two people disqualified for pausing mid-match. The first was NickRiddle, who happened to be well on his way to three-stocking Cheese. To be fair, rules are rules, and it's not like NickRiddle was in danger of losing. He didn't have to go so hard on his controller. And Cheese won Game 2 on NickRiddle's counterpick. Blah, blah, blah. The second time was stupid, though. Played Will's DK with his King Dedede; about two minutes into the match, he does what appeared to be a standing infinite, which is banned according to MLG's rules; there was no ref watching the match, so no one drew attention to it. Will pauses the game, and is like,
"Whoa, that's banned." Cheese responds with.
"Whoa, you paused." Guess who got in trouble? ( :/ )
That being said, they saved the replay, and Cheese was indeed doing a small-step chaingrab, Which is legal, apparently. Regardless, the ref wasn't doing his job, and no one could tell until they watched the replay about five times. They don't have unlimited replays, so Will wouldn't have been able to prove it otherwise. But they gave Cheese the win when the ref was in the wrong, which is simply unfair. Still, top 16 at MLG. What a cool guy right?[/

Roxy: One of the greatest, but anywhoozle, how did you feel about your winners bracket matches?

Reflex : In general? Really cool guys. I definitely wanted to ask Turbo Ether to give me some Wolf advice. He kept clipping me with things I never thought would come out, and he impressed me; I have a lot to learn. ChiboSempai is pretty good at camping. :/. He needs to learn how to actually chase an opponent, though. ROB can do mean things to Sheik if he gets in, and he lost more than one match that he tried to camp. He's got the camping game down. Good on him, but there's more to the game than that, despite what some may think.
. I can't complain about my losses. I just got outplayed (and Meta Knight is legal; same thing, right?). Tyrant and Fatal are excellent players and they definitely deserve their placings. KirinBlaze is quite smart with his Link. Neat bomb tricks I never would've imagined. Wish I would've played his Mario; I think that would've been really fun to watch and go against. It was a pleasure to play him in bracket. ...And, I guess that's it. I got a bye first round.

Reflex : Speaking of which, people should stop using "free" to describe weak players. **** is annoying.

Roxy : Free is a pretty common term in marvel y'know

Reflex : Maybe that's why no one plays it anymore. (ooh, burn) I'm joking, of course.

Roxy : Speaking of other fighters, I saw on the stream (mainly because of your pt hat) that you were watching tekken 6 if not for a short moment. How did you feel about ATL's performance, and more detailed, Clint's Kuma performance in grand finals?

Reflex : I had my eyes glued to Tekken 6, actually. They made it look like a whole lot of fun. I'm thinking about picking up the game now, honestly. Looks like a giant frame trap, which is exciting to me. ATL put on a good show--I actually ended up having to ask someone, "Does Bruce ever stop carrying people off of a hard counter without a wall?" Thanks, Pokchop. :p As for Clint's Kuma, HOLY ****, IT'S A GOD**** BEAR. That was basically my reaction to the Brawl players. I know a little better than that, but acting like I'm clueless was a little funnier.

Roxy : I have to admit I felt pretty confused on how Kuma could've possibly did good at that tournament, but Clint proved me wrong in the most stylish manner.

Reflex : I was excited throughout. He had a lot of mix-ups I hadn't expected, even in the silliest ways possible. At least, unique moves, to say the least. All-fours bear moves are neat, and having such a good wake-up move while on your back, head toward the opponent is silly. Plus, EVERYONE ROLLS AFTER THE HARD COUNTER COMBO, FREE BEAR SHOULDER CANNON

Roxy : I'm surprised at how much it hit, it might as well have been added as a part of the combo sometimes.

Reflex : Apparently :p

Roxy : As fun as tekken 6 is to talk about, back to brawl for a moment. were there any matches that you found particularly exciting? (Outside of winners, losers, and grand finals)

Reflex : Watching Felix tear through his bracket like he did was pleasant in itself. He showcased just how good the cartwheel is while being creative, technical, and a generally smart player.

Roxy : Now who
