Mixing 2 vertex hacks in one?

So far as I know, you can't. But some crazy person may have managed it and i am now wrong, so i dunno.
EDIT: it would probably be using the polygons though. in any case, you'd need brawlbox.

You can. I've done it a long time ago, so I might be a bit fuzzy on the details.
If you want hatless Link's hatless-ness on Strapless Link, for example, just take the vertex group for hatless Link's head, save that as vertex.ddf, and then use DDVB to make a 3DS file, and then insert that into the MDL0 for Strapless Link. (You may or may not have to use Anim8or).
