Minor bother in Team Battle

So, there's this thing bothering me in Team Battle, and it's the team colors. You see, I don't really want to have Mario wear inverted clothing as he teams up with blue-clothed Luigi against Bowser.

I know this is a minor nitpick, and I could just replace the team colors with the default tints, but now that I'm downloading additional skins to the playable characters. This is becoming more and more of a bother. My suggestion is that, if possible, the characters' colors could be changed freely regardless of the team, and just clicking on the team flag would change the team (leaving the character skin untouched). I don't really know anything about how hacking Brawl really works other than setting up the mods, so I'll understand if this feature can't be added. I posted it here in the Project M board mainly because Project M has more modifications to the Brawl engine than other hacks (as far as I know), and I'm a Project M fan myself.

Apologies if this was brought up before, I'm not familiar with this forum's layout and search engine.

For competitive purposes, it makes sense to have people on the same team being the same color, at least by default. I agree that it'd be cool to see default colors on a team, especially with something like team Mario/Luigi.

I don't know for sure, but I'm guessing they weren't capable of making it possible to change costume completely independently from the team color. They managed having two costumes per team on some characters, but that doesn't mean it's easy to take that further. When hacking a game it's rather unpredictable what will be easy or hard to do, so while the PMBR has done some ridiculously amazing things, that doesn't mean that this will be easy or even possible.

That said I think it's a great idea and if it IS possible it'd be a really cool addition.

yeah i said this before in another thread, it would be really nice for like casual team fights to be able to do this fighting with the default color or atleast the color you want.

Someone in Custom Content suggested creating "Turbo Mode auras" with team colors so that Alt Costumes could be used in Team Battles. But as it turns out those outlines are just edited version of the Spicy Curry Item.

You can easily edit the files to suit your needs though. My friends build has all green team costumes as white, and red team costumes as black simply because he wanted those as team colors.

I already have all the default colors replacing team colors, but now that I'm starting to use more custom skins, this becomes a problem.

I agree with this. I think it would be best if forced colors could be eliminated all together. Especially with all of these new amazing costumes. I play a lot of team games, but having to be one of those 3 colors... Meh. If someone was truly concerned about not being able to locate their teammate, they could both choose blue if they wanted to, but I think having Mr. L team up with Dry Bowser would be awesome.
