So Smash Bros. is a game that can be played by many different ways. So why to stick to the only "right one"? I'm sure everyone of you know some other way to play than just the normal "beat each other to death", so please share your ideas here.
I will start.

You will need: A flat custom stage with a solid pillar in the middle. A friend. 3 controllers.
You and your friend both choose characters you want. Then you choose the character of desired weight for the third controller. This character is the ball. Using the third controller during the game is against the rules.
Choose your own sides. Set the ball to the pillar.
Players start from the other side of the stage. Game may now begin.
The goal is to hit the ball so it lands on the opposing side. You get a point when the ball touches the opposing ground.
After a point, ball is KO'd and put back to the middle.
You also get a point if your opponent KO's the ball.
You can go to your opponents side of the stage, for a spike attempt or just gimping the ball.
You can stand on the pillar.
However, your opponent gets a point if you touch the ground on his side.
Your opponent also gets a point if you grab the ball.
You can do whatever you want to your opponent. (No irl harassing)
Decide for yourself:
Ganoncide rules
Villager trees on the pillar

Please, try this out and share your thoughts.

I will try your game sometime, I love mini-games in smash. :p

I have created something called 'Better Dodgeball'. For this game you need people who have a basic grasp of the mechanics of smash, and who are able to catch items or just people around the same skill level. It's basically a game where you have 2 sides with 2 players each (friendly fire on or off according to preference), with vertically stacked cannons (from the level editor) in the middle. If you touch a cannon, you die off the bottom. :p The basic idea is to kill each other with items only, so you have to set items on high (melee's highest item spawn rate would be much better here), and for some reason the cannons only work well if you pick yoshi, so everyone has to be yoshi. The items you turn on are throwable items that do a lot of damage or knockback, and things like bumpers and the wind blower.

The middle parts are cannons, the edges are lava and not grab-able (wtf how do I spell that word).

Edit: I forgot about another mini-game: It's actually really simple, you just pick villager with 4 people (or even more) and then do a free for all with explosive items and things like bumpers (basically anything that's fun to pocket and throw back). This is guaranteed fun. :p

It also brings me to another mini-game where you just put on the bumpers as the only item (high spawn rate) and you play on a tiny stage. Then the only rule is that you can only use bumpers instead of attacking.
