Day off the Nintendo World Championships, 2 days before their Digital Event, huh.
If they're working / planing for new characters / features before they take on user requests, I bet we'll 100% see them at the Digital Event.

Good to see Lucas is being release before the E3, that could mean more DLC announcements in the Digital Event... Hopefully they will announce exciting DLC characters this time.

The hideous Inkling Mii costume is coming the same day, btw.

Any doubt (which was already very small) that we wouldn't get any Smash dlc news at E3 has been wiped away now that Lucas and the Miiverse stage is being released 2 days before E3.

If they don't have anything new they're not going to have much to talk about.

Agreed. I feel like they announced Lucas so he wouldn't be overshadowed by the news we will receive at E3 that is likely to cause lots of hype. (That being said, I would not have forgotten about Lucas, really hyped for him)

If Mother 3 is EVER going to make it over the pond, this'd be a heck-of-a-time to do it. Though I don't see it happening, having the fan-translation turn official would be a huge PR win.
To be honest, I'd hope there would be precedent for other unreleased games to get a digital release.. like the officially translated Earthbound Zero (Mother on NES).

We'll probably get trailers for the next two DLC characters whom, for identifier's sake, I will call "Ryu" and "Roy." Past that, maybe an update on tournament mode's progress or features, or some news about the character ballot, or something.

Miiverse will be aight, but I'd probably just stick with Battlefield.

My top guess is that it won't be a fully automated process. They'll probably set up some sort of moderated Miiverse thread (kinda like for stage submissions, seriously how inconvenient of an idea was that) to post character art through.

I've had the honor to see some rather... disturbing things on Miiverse. I hope to the heavens above that they won't find their way into the Miiverse stage. Hopefully the admins will remain diligent on that.

If I recall correctly I think they said something about the moderators simply choosing which Miiverse drawings get featured on the Miiverse stage back during the 50 facts direct. Or something along those lines...
