I don't know about elsewhere, but around here...stores never stock new games on a Sunday. In fact, most of them don't stock new games until Tuesday (and this includes Wal-Mart, Best Buy, Fred Myer, Target, etc). When Super Mario Galaxy came out back in November, nobody had it on Monday the 12th, which was it's official release date. Since February 10th lands on a Sunday, I'm worried that I won't be able to have a copy of the game in my hands until Tuesday the 12th, or at the very earliest, Monday! Anybody else thought about this?

Nope. lol. I know for sure my Gameware is going to have the game by Friday, and have the games shelved by the 10th.

But I'm getting mine when? Saturday!

My local gamestores will receive Brawl on February 7th, and are also having a midnight launch.

Stores also have a tendency to receive the Game Guides before the game hits the shelves, so I will look into that as well.

Yeah, I've talked to a few of my local game stores. With a release as big as Brawl, they'll definitely have it on the listed release date. I remember when God of War 2 came out the employees actually drove out to meet up with the plane that was shipping their stock of the game....so with something like Brawl, it's unlikely you'll have to worry.

My only hope of not having to wait until the Monday or Tuesday after, is if my local Game Crazy has a midnight launch. They only do it with "important" games, but the only games they have ever launched at midnight have been Halo 2 and Halo 3. They didn't even have a midnight launch for the Wii and Twilight Princess...and if they didn't think Twilight Princess was important enough, then I'm worried they won't think Brawl is either. I guess only Halo gets top priority with them.

I work at Target and we don't usually release games until Tuesday. We get them about two weeks in advance though. I'm pretty sure we'll be selling this game on its release date.

The same incident happened with my local Best Buy and SMG. 2 days after the official launch before I was able to purchase it. I just thought that was the case because I lived in Canada :s

On that note, Imma call them up and confirm the release date.

games that are released on a Sunday you can actually buy that day. I remember that it's happened with at least one of the DSes (Phat or Lite, or maybe both?) and Pokemon Diamond/Pearl

I got galaxy the day it was out in southern ontario. :chuckle:

Anyway, Brawl is a sunday release date. It will be out on sunday and they'll get stock a week before the game is actually out. Just like Pokemon Diamond/Pearl.

The 10th is Brawl's "street date," which means the intent is to have it in stores and "on the street" by the 10th.
