Middle finger tendon pain

Lately I've been experiencing pain in both of my hands in my middle finger tendons. I don't think it's from melee because I've been playing with advanced techniques for less than 3 months and I've never been to a tournament and I only use my right middle finger on any buttons but it's worse in my left hand. Is this a melee problem or from something else?

Can't see why it would be Melee. I can only see it happening to your thumb area for the most part. The GCN controller is quite ergonomic especially from your middle finger to pinky. Maybe you're gripping your controller too hard, but I doubt it. Could be other things associated with your middle finger such as:
  • RTS / MOBA's right clicking
  • FPS asdw keys
  • Typing too much
  • When someone cuts you off in traffic and you drive behind them for 20 minutes
Anyways, it's always best to rest when somethings in pain.

I haven't played in a week and it's been worse than normal the last few days. I don't play any pc games. I'm thinking it's probably from my phone not melee

I have the same problem but with the highest joint of both of my index fingers, especially the right one. I think it might be because i recently started using the L button instead of the R button, and i press the Z button too hard. The thing is if i rest, i will forget a lot of things i learned in the past few days. What should i do?

Does anyone know if there's a name for what I have?
Sounds like minor carpel tunnel or tendonitis (yes that is a real thing, I know it sounds goofy.)

I experience the same thing frequently, but in the spaces between my knuckles on my left hand's ring and pinkie fingers, especially after moonwalking a lot (something that I do just about as often as a dash tbh). Also, my first joint on my index finger of the same hand tends to ache after playing melee for a while, as I use L for wavedashing. I can't relate to the middle finger, but it's not to say it isn't melee causing your strain. My advice would be to look up some stretching exercises for your forearms and hands, and utelize those before playing and at regular intervals while playing for long periods of time. It sounds excessive, but "Smash ain't no joke!". This will probably alleviate any muscular or tendon stress you may be experiencing, from techskill or anything else in your day.

Hope this helped!
