I think that avatars are better than Miis. But they just dont fit the theme of the 360. The Miis match the Wii nicely and translating that to a systym known for its core audience just seems weird to me. I dont think its a bad idea for microsoft to have a digital avatar function its just that I'd rather have something cooler and hardcore, not just an updated Mii ripoff.

I love the avatars. I don't think they're particularly "un-Xbox," either. The system appeals to older gamers, but there's nothing particularly childish or immature about having a cute little version of you. They're much better than Miis in basically every way (I can finally give myself something that kind of looks like my own hair!).

The only thing lacking is that you can only make one avatar. It would be nice to be able to play around a little bit with a few extras, just 'cause I like doing **** like that.

Also, if you want something "cool" and "hardcore," give your avatar a scar on his eye.

So far I really like Avatars. I get a kick out of looking at my friends list and seeing everyone's avatar along with seeing who's playing with their friends. The party system that came with NXE is so awesome. I can start a party even when I'm playing alone, a friend can sign in and join my party no problem, they can ask me what I'm doing/if I want to play something with them and even when you switch games, or you and all your friends are trying to get together in a game lobby, it's much easier now because you can talk to each other the entire time.
