These tournaments blow. They aren't about competitive Smash at all. All gamecubes are hooked up to Plasma Screen TV's (the "best") with a 6-10 frame lag, and the tournament organizers say we can't bring our own tv's because of liability. If you miss any of these tournaments, then you didn't miss a thing. I went to one and the lag was so bad I could barely run Ganon, and it was a poor attempt at that. Telling them about it also doesn't help as they don't seem to get it. These tournaments weren't organized for those in the competitive Smash community, but those that happen to be eating lunch at the right McDonald's on the right day.

I'm not trying to trash the tournaments entirely, but they really have no knowledge of competitive Smash, and the TV's single handedly ruined the entire day of smash for me.

Well, the tournament IS free to enter, but for me it still wasn't worth it. I'd suggest taking up Marth or Sheik before the tournament if you really really want that free McDonald's. But truthfully I don't think it's worth it.

I too agree with Chaddd, the TVs were horrible. I did like the set-up, but single elim on a bracket made in MS Word, with hosts that really don't know what they are talking about...

ehhhhh.... I guess you'd have to experience it first hand to understand what we mean.

I suggest picking up Marth or Peach for this tourney. :\
The set up is nice.
:o They did promise to fix the tv problem for the finals. They said they can't switch out the tvs during the the tour because of liability issues or something. But thats only if you actually win the tournament. The lag on the TV will kill any skill you have at the game. :\
Still, a free trip to texas is pretty cool.
