yes its really hard to pull off since the disable only works if you face the opponents eyes

As awesome as it looked, it's very situational. If you saw, for Ness' down smash he looks behind him when he slings the Yo-Yo behind him, which technically made him "face" you and allowed Disable to hit. Congrats on that though, it was pretty cool.
