Today I was playing Melee. I was Mewtwo, my friend was MonoClimber, and we were both near the edge. I held up my shield until it broke, which did the typical helpless state death to me, but at the same time it pushed my Monoclimber friend off the stage and being Monoclimber he couldn't recover.

Kamikaze Shieldbreaker kill ftw!!!

That is awesome. Did that poor, poor mindgamed MonoClimber not have a second jump or something? Or do breaking shields hit a lot harder than I thought?

My guess is that he was in awe of how severely he had just been mindgamed.
