Meta Knight vs. Kirby

I've been playing meta knight, and I try to space as well as I can, but my friends kirby always gets me into trouble. Well, I guess it is kind of general, but kirby is my hardest because his f smash right out of a dodge hits me. So other then better spacing do you have any tips I could use to avoid his dodge > fsmash? I would post a video, but my crappy video camera broke so I can't even provide a bad quality video

Edit: Also, do you have any tips for when he does a dodge, I can't seem to get a grab out of my shield fast enough before he does an fsmash or dsmash

Slow down your Ftilt if he sidesteps them. This way, you can him the ending frames of the sidestep with the 2nd or 3rd Ftilt hits.
