So I've been around in a few social threads sharing a tweet I posted that got a response from Yacht Club Games. I figured it would be best to make a topic on it and share this information with the community.

As you can see, YCGames is all up for the idea of Meta Knight as a boss for the Wii U version of Shovel Knight~! But like any other gaming community, you have to make your voice heard. If you want to see this possibly become a reality, share this news, favorite it, retweet it to Nintendo, whatever gets the word out and showing them that we want content for the Wii U version of the game. Feel free to express possible ideas of the content here~!

Meta Knight is one of my favorite video game characters ever. This badass needs his own time to shine in Shovel Knight pronto! Although, David D'Angelo favors Tingle. *shudders*

If this happens I hope there's a second phase where Meta Knight gets overcome by darkness and becomes Dark Meta Knight, just so I can heard an 8-bit rendition of his epic boss theme a la Kirby Triple Deluxe!

Besides, who wouldn't love to get Meta Armor, where Shovel Knight mimicks the attacks of the Master Sword from Kirby & the Amazing Mirror? Like doing a spinning air dash, a forward lunge, or even charging up a wave of fire to send forth? EXCEPT WITH A SHOVEL! Some more obvious functions of this would be sprouting a pair of bat wings or having a spinning tornado aerial move.

Not sure I'm a fan of the overcome by darkness thing. But Meta Knight's stage being the Halberd would be pretty nice. And heck. To follow the theme of the other knights becoming playable, they could make Meta Knight playable. He does have the type of personality that seeks to find a worthy opponent of his skills. That'd be very intriguing to see.

The "overcome by darkness" bit is a way to shoehorn Dark Meta Knight into the boss fight. Definitely not some emo woobie bull****.

I wonder how far Nintendo/HAL Labs would be willing to go to make Meta Knight fully playable in an unofficial indie title. Don't get me wrong, that would be one of the most generous crossover bonuses ever though. With the way Yacht Club has been handling the guest characters, just giving Shovel knight a new armor set would be the quicker, more traditional route.

I think Meta Knight in Shovel Knight would be great, even as just a boss. Sony got Kratos as a boss iirc, so it'd be cool if Nintendo got something like that. Honestly Nintendo IPs are pretty valuable. I'd like to see them do neat bonuses like they did for Bayonetta and the Nintendo costumes for other third party titles.
