So a couple of months into playing Project M I wouldn't say that I was good but I definitely knew what I was doing, I was able to string combos well, predict how others will react, and know what to do when the time came. But as I started to become good with the basic knowledge of skill (if felt like I was naturally progressing) for the past 2 months I have felt disconnected to this sense of awareness and now its impacted my play big time. I want to know if any one else has been through this and anything that might have caused this and how to deal with it.
Backgrouond info: 16 male, main Falco, Roy, and the occasional Bowser.

You're just experiencing the natural order of growth. When you learn something new, the first 20 hours or so (don't quote me) you learn a ton, but as time progresses, growth isn't so fast. It's probably not a mental block but a plateau. What you should focus on is your fundamentals & continue to practice/ play better people and you will improve.

How much have you learned via research online, and practicing what you learned? Learning via playing frequently is always the best method, but once you gain a good enough understanding of the game "naturally," it may be time to turn to the interwebs. Think of it like having a teacher. Without schooling, you probably could have figured out basic math by yourself over a few years, but after that you'd probably stop progressing. But having had teachers to guide your learning, I'm sure you've reached quite a bit further than you would have otherwise. SmashBoards and a few other sites have over a decade of tried and true advice, guides, videos, etc. from professionals and other experienced players, just waiting to be tapped in to. Tap in to it.

Two links that really helped me that I love to throw into these kinds of posts:
* Smash Fundamentals
* Drastic Improvement

That was a very good way of putting it, like seriously that helped a lot. I rarely go online for information and I guess I felt like I did not need any practice since I thought I already knew it... But yeah man I will do a lot more research :D
