Well on Saturday I rented Super Smash Bros. Melee. I use to be a master at this game,(I lost it to my evil dog) so the first thing I did was go to Classic mode, set it to Very Hard and started.

I died within 40 seconds.

It felt so different. The there was more gravity ("How hard is it to recover!?) the A.I. was smarter ("They didn't do that in Brawl...") and the game felt more faster paced then Brawl.

It was weird, I could K.O. without even trying when I left of with Melee. But after playing Brawl, it's like my mad skillz vanished. So I went to play Brawl and compare the two, and this is the list of differences I made:

-<Melee>-
#Wave dashing
#Heavier gravity
#Smarter A.I. (no more CPU teaming!)
#Battlefield is epic
#Adventure Mode- Hey it's short but at least it doesn't take three days to beat.
#Black Hole

-<Brawl>-
#Lighter gravity ("Since when can Bowser jump that high...")
#Retarted, teaming A.I. ("STOP IT!!")
#Final Destination is more epic.
#Adventure Mode- Does this even need a story line....
#Wi-Fi
#No more character unique target stages.

Well what do you think about each game?

I think you should request this close before Melee or Brawl fans come and destroy this thread. T_T

But judging by your experience, you haven't got good luck when trying to master both Melee and Brawl. First things first, you have to know what character you main, Melee and Brawl gameplay is different in both it's ways and so is the character performance, (for example if you main Kirby in Melee, he performs way different than he does in Brawl).

When I played Melee last weekend, I thought it was the most beautiful thing ever created. I knew what I was getting myself into when I picked up that case, my little skill in Brawl plummets to N00b after playing Melee to the point where I begin to get used to WD'ing, L-canceling, SHFFL's, and grabbing with Z. It was like a drug in front of me...should I do it? Or should I just back off, say no? I ended up playing it, and played it at least 6 hours that day.

I then went to play Brawl, and I felt like my fingers weren't following my commands. I tried grabbing with Z, WD'ing, L-canceling, and then the full weight hit me when I realized I couldn't dashdance. Frustrated, I turned off the Wii and took a break, then felt hopeless. The feelings continued to get worse as I watched a few matches on the Apex live stream. :urg:. I'm getting used to it again, but still...*shivers*

SO:

Melee~

-Addicting
-More fluid, beautiful movement
-Clouds of smoke after every dash, wavedash, dashdance, etc...
-Can throw with C-stick
-Grab with Z (I grab with Y in Brawl)
-Wavedash/ATs
-Nostalgic stages
-Break the Targets, etc.
-Better narrator

Brawl~

-Not as addicting, more curiousity for me
-Not as fast, not so fluid
-Not as many lovable ATs
-Grab with Y
-Great character design
-Great cutscenes
-Not so great story
-Boring and (theme) repetitive music
-Dumb, useless extras (Coin Launcher)
-Snapshots
-Brawl + (AMAZING)
-Narrator sucks
-Wi-Fi (even though it kinda sucks)
-Music is great
-Lack of PICHUUUUUU!!!!!

Well, that ended up a lot longer then I expected. :embarrass
