So, in spite of the epic music making it seem as if the battles are better than they actually are, we've all just been getting back into the groove of brawling and have been using a digital camera to record some matches. I'm looking for some critiques to tell me how I can improve my game.

By watching these videos myself, all taken within an hour, I've already noticed that I dash-attack and dash-grab way too predictably and often, so I'm not doing that anymore.. but other than that, any input would be great ;O

You're looking good! One thing that I would suggest learning, though, would be pivot grabbing. You perform a pivot grab by dashing one direction and then simultaneously turning around and performing a grab. Much of the start-up lag of Yoshi's grab is skipped, resulting in a very fast, useful, turning grab. This technique and many others are contained in Sharky's thread: How to Hatch a Healthy Yoshi ( http://www.smashboards.com/showthread.php?t=143857 ), and I really recomment that every Yoshi player read it, as it contains loads of helpful information.

Anyway, good luck and happy smashing!

:yoshi: Yeah, you covered most of what I was going to say in your first post.

Try to use dash grabbing like Sheik or Marth would in Melee. Force your opponent into unstable positions (near the edge, at certain parts of moving stages or platforms, etc.) and then go for it. You can snag slow jumpers like this as well and if you expect a spotdodge, you can dash, shield, and then shieldgrab to catch them. Just try not to go for it too often or else you'll get screwed out of lots of opportunities.
