Maximizing net speed on wii u

I have a lan card, and depending on the speed test i use, i get either 25 or 12 mbs(from dallas, im in chicago). Wifi is around 8 to 10. My internet is 150 mb. I was told on the antherladder chat that my router is bottlenecking my connection, but i 1. dont know how thats possible, and 2. i dont know how to fix it if that is the case. Theres no port to forward.

Thoughts? What speeds do you guys get? How can i maximize my connection?

Im wondering if different lan cards max and different speeds. Mine is usb 2.0 (since nintendo doesnt offer 3.0)
