1. go to falco's break the targets
2. stand on one of the two blocks on the lower right (where you can stand but you cant jump)
3. practice jump shine or shield jump shine. You will be able to go through your jump squat animation and do a shine but if you are too late you wont jump and your shine wont come out.
4. ????
5. profit

dont practice double shines if youre not good at it because if you shine too late you will hit your head on the top block, immediately ground yourself, then proceed to grounded shine again, which gives the illusion to the untrained eye of multishining. but if you know what youre doing go ahead. I found this today and i plan to only practice shine OOS.

edit: this actually may be a bad idea.... I want to hear some responses though.

isnt shine oos timing the same as multishines?

and does anyone grounded shine oos against anyone ither than spacies?
grounded shines oos are good for both fox and falco vs anyone. Falco because you have all your options open (SH, waveland, FH, double shine, DJ whatever) and for Fox because you can hitconfirm into a wave shine->usmash/grab/shine

it's hard to do consistently though I know a lot of high level players don't consistently grounded shine oos

edit:

on a side note I discovered controller etiquette that makes double shining easier with Fox (thus it works with Falco)

After more testing I realized that this technique will produce what looks like double/multi shines even if you press B after leaving jumpsquat.

Realistically, the only use of this is if you want to practice the timing by multishining slowly so to speak. This means that you can go y--> B slower than normal and continue to 'multishine.' This method prevents you from leaving the ground if you are too slow, but if you press B too fast (which is a common problem, which usually makes you just empty sh or fh normally), you will just stay grounded with no shine coming out.

Alternatively practice on the tree on Onnett.

Overall getting grounded shine OOS is not too important esp at a lower level. Learn the more important aspects of the game first.

Grounded shine oos, while good, is not optimal in every situation. That is to say, at higher percents, it's often better to just shine backair oos (NOT grounded).

1) There's less lag because no jumpsquat
2) You can hit with a lower part of the shine to make sure you get the backair

Also, if you're below a platform, grounded shine oos might make you too slow to follow up with a waveland on the platform, while not grounded shine oos obviously won't have this issue. Discuss?

all of that is true. However grounded shine is the earliest shine you can do (obviously) so thats one advantage. If youre not in position to wl onto a platform using your dj might be risky, depending on your opponents character and percent.
I dont think falco's main difficulty OOS is getting grounded shine rather than aerial shine, its in choosing the right option, i.e choosing whether ( and when) to wd OOS, jump, shine, or roll.
shine backair is such a good option though, that I feel like aerial shine is better in most circumstances than grounded shine. Maybe the advantage in grounded shine lies in the fact that you can wd out of it or jump, or even grab (i dont forsee this being used ever to counter shield pressure, you might as well shield grab rather than shine grab OOS).
