Marths short hop double fair problem

Ok, I have tried a lot to perform this tech. I jump with the x button and hit the first fair with the a button and then use the c stick which I usually use for the aerial attacks. However, its hard for me to get the second fair. Normally it would end up in the middle of the animation which doesnt help at all because it is not enough to hit my opponent. Is there a certain timing to perform the move? Or should I use the y button to jump?

You could try timing it and not using the c stick. The window is pretty wide. Also, don't fast fall

I use X, and it's better to time it so you don't miss it like you probably are. When I'm facing to the left, two c stick hits are good, but when I'm facing to the right, I do the first with A, then the c stick.

To each his own lol. I use X and it works just fine for me.

Just use the C-stick for all aerials (apart from n-air, of course) despite character. It might feel easier to do it with the A-button, but you'll most likely get more out of it by learning how to do it with the c-stick rather than taking the easy path.

Well, in my case, when I jump with X and I'm facing to the right, hitting the cstick is too difficult, so I use A for the first fair, then I can reach the cstick in time for the second.

Do whatever you want, but using the C-stick is the better option here. Mostly because C-stick provides you better movement options, or at least easier ones.

Well, I can still fade away fair with A. It's just a matter of preference.
