Marth vs. link

Hi, I seem to be having much trouble against my friend who plays as link or toon link. I'm having trouble getting close to him to make strikes with him throwing his arrows, bombs and boomerangs. i would try to dodge by using sidestepping or get to him by jumping and doing midair dodge, but his projectiles seem to always get me. I can't get any fairs on him or dashes. Any advice or tactics to get up close to hit him? Thanks

ok, i know a link camper myself, if there are platforms use them to your advantage, if he uses his gale boomerang use the pull back as a way to get close to him and counter any attacks he uses as you're being pulled in, remember marth can use his counter to deflect projectiles, and catch bombs he throws and use them to try and mindgame him

You can hit his boomerang away with Fair as you approach, you can dodge or catch his bombs to throw them back, and finally if you dodge his arrows as you approach him, it leaves him vulnerable to a Fair, OverB, or whatever you want to hit him with.

shield/hit the arrows
use the boomerang to help you get close
catch bombs and blow link up
keep yourself in the air or on platforms, cuz he cant shoot arrows and you or throw the boomerang at that much or an angle.
if worst comes to worst, just run straight through. the attacks arent that damaging
