You need to work on your tech skill. Perfect wavedashes and lower shffl's and getting all of your L-cancel's. There's also stuff like not using the usmash and cutting down on uairs.

It's pretty hard to play effectively without being able to do the basics.

Well about the first match. Always needed perfect shffl. Then the wavedashing. You could also add some mindgames. A good one is run to him, then wavedash back, hen run to him again and grab. Works good if you do it right. Try to roll less. Also use less up airs and down airs, because they aint that could. Especialy the upairs suck, I only use up tilt while chaingrabbing or when he is on a platform. Down air also not that handy. I only use it as ledge attack or outside the stage. You could try to hang on the edge more when opponent is off the stage. If you wanna do it pro and quick wavedash on it. About second match, use a good stage lol. And also try to make more edgeguards, most of the time your just standing there and waiting for c stick. Hang on edge, ledge attack downsmash or backair works great.
