Mario's fsmash = reflect

Is this already common knowledge? I just found out that Mario's fsmash can reflect items pretty much like Ness's bat. I don't remember reading about this anywhere, so...

Nice find, I've never heard of that. But I guess just using the cape would be better...

Strange, couldn't do it on training mode (tried to reflect projectiles from Fox, Falco, Samus, Lucario and Pikachu). I'm positive it wasn't a Franklin Badge, as I was playing with items set to off when it happened.

I'm confused :S
