Do you believe that this would be a good match up? I'm really getting sick of these stupid "I f tilt all match" Snake mains.

I was thinking-his CAPE would destroy his recovery and flip him right aroundto watch him fall and die

his projectile is bouncy....can stop mines...and will stop his dash cancel..and help with staying away from his tilts.

is d smash is also surprisingly fast and he has a spike as anothr option to stop snakes recovery.

What do you guys think?

I'm not exactly sure how I would classify a Snake match-up (I'd say Mario seems to have a bit of an advantage over Snake but I can't say for sure), but here's my general strategy:

Approach with fireballs and space with F.L.U.D.D. if you feel you're being out-ranged by his attacks or if you're being pressured. Also, the stutter step for Mario's Fsmash is long and should be able to out-range most of Snake's attacks if you space it well.

If you're having trouble with snakedashing or Snake's dash attack, try to predict when he'll snakedash or use his dash attack (Cape snakedashes and shield grab dash attacks; snakedashes are hard to cape because they're fast and if you don't think you can cape it just dodge and try your best to punish it).

For edgeguarding Snake, use lots of Bairs and reverse Uairs. Also, master the Cape Glide so you can quickly cape or spike him even from far away (You have to cape Snake multiple times because he gets his Up B back when you cape him).

*My friend plays a good Snake but I always beat him...he commits suicide with his C4s when he realizes he's about to lose...going out in style I guess...it sounds lame but it's actually very funny*

When playing against Snake:

Beware the F-tilt or U-tilt.
Watch where he puts spam, and spam back to limit his spam
If you get a grab, d-throw him and try to combo the crap out of him since he sucks in the air.
ledgeguard him aggressively since his recovery never autosweetspots the ledge

All in all I think this matchup is definitely winnable compared to some of Mario's other top tier matchups.\

fludd also helps for edge guarding slows him down in the air gives you a shot to figure what would be good to attempt the spike cape or just back off and wait for a good U/B-Air opportunity.

i too am having trouble with this match up. i'm afraid it's nearly impossible to beat snake because ive never won against snake
ps: i'm quite pessimistic when fighting with snake.

I used to have problems against Snakes, now I just camp/spam the **** out of him, like he does to me. I keep my distance, if I see that he's approaching me(dash attack/snake dash), I shoot a fire ball and jump over =] If there's an usmash, I just cape it, they usually don't expect it.

For close range fighting, if he's shielding, I use down air to eat his shield, I try to do it behind him so I won't get shield grabbed. When I see him roll away, I chase it with an nair, it usually stays out longer than Snake's roll, and he tends to get hit. I use utilt a lot too, since it's fast, and it juggles Snakes nicely =]
