I'd say I don't have much trouble recovering with Mario, and I think super jump punch (which is an amazing combo finisher) is more important, it's already a decent recovery, and Mario has the cape and wall jumping abilities as well.

Super Jump lacks a hitbox, makes it more prone to getting gimped too.

I don't my luck with Super Jump since it doesn't have a hitbox and your opponent can get easy gimps off of you. Jump punch is the way to go.

The Super Jump Punch! It's just a really versatile attack. The Super Jump can recover, with none of the combo potental. And it has no hitbox to make things worse.

yea, Super jump is easily gimped and predictable, and as I said, Super Jump punch is already a decent enough recovery

I don't play a lot with customs, but when I do, i pick a stage with low ceiling and use explosive punch as follow up from d-tilt combos.
