mario help...

i need some help with mario.
I've been using kirby and he's good, but not that fun to use.

I've seen people using down-b then up-b to recover. i've tried to rapidly tap b, but it doesn't move me upward unless i'm hitting someone with it.

Also any advanced techs or combos would be helpful. Thanks!

Down air -> u tilt in a single jump is just pure fun. Its pretty hard to do but it's worth it.

Also pivot quite a bit with Mario because it helps me quite a bit. Just don't spam smash attacks. It will get you no where skill wise.

You're not pressing b fast enough on his tornado. The only reason you gain height when you hit somebody is the game lag from the hits (the game slows down to like 50 fps or so with me on console).

Dair -> uair repeated to usmash or dsmash is great. Also, tornado spike ftw. There are never enough fireballs.

the game doesn't slow down when you tornado/drill people, your character just performs the move slower. each frame that connects delays the next a little. i can't get my drill->uair down consistently, it's all about the weakened uair combos to usmash ftw :D pretty much all of mario's smashes are ****, fireball can give you an opening for any of them. fireball to a down-angled lampshade fist on the lower level of peach's castle or the left side of hyrule = ****
