Lot's of people want a Mario and Sonic crossover game, sadly, the olympics titles were not what we had in mind. So how would you guys do a real Mario and Sonic crossover adventure game?

I give the Olympics series props for being the only video game version of any merit of my favorite sport. :p

But I think the styles would clash terribly if it were an adventure game, just due to gameplay style. Honestly from that standpoint, I feel sports-like titles were the way to go.

I was hoping for an RPG like adventure of their worlds colliding

in the style of the Mario and Luigi RPG series.

If it were platforming, then it could be something like that one Crash and Spyro collaboration, without mini games and with actual levels. If possible may it could be released in one cartridge where you pick your side.

That would be an interesting idea. Just hope Nintendo doesn't treat it like Sticker Star.

I like the RPG idea of Mario and Sonic working together. Possibly some fun Nintendo vs SEGA story in the 90s that ends with them working together? One can only dream, right? :D

It would be very tricky, but if they could do a platformer together that would be great. That is where the franchises really started off. The key for this is level design and that is where it would be tough. Mario for the more precise platforming elements and Sonic for the speed levels.

They could split the levels off like Sonic Generations did.

I still would like to see a Mario & Sonic platformer that mixes gameplay styles like what Sonic Generations did. This is something I think can work if executed well. A crossover series with two iconic characters participating in the Olympics is a wasted opportunity.
