I've got a little problem. I want to use this image for Toon Link's mouth:

But the CMPR compression makes it look like this:

So is there a way to make Toon Link's mouth images (namely 1, 3, 4 and 5) indexed so that they show up properly in-game? I can probably make the file be under the filesize limit if I use a 16-color palette for the mouth images and for Toon Link's eye whites as well.

That's a common problem if BrawlBox reads the file as an "indexed" image rather than an "RGB" file. When I try to replace my images with an indexed file, it comes out with weird straight lines on the bottom of the images. Try indexing the image to whatever palette you want, and then put it back as an RGB file. It won't make a difference since you already indexed it and put it as an RGB file, and that way BrawlBox can notice it as an RGB file.

I'm not sure if this is really an error, but it works for me at least...

The problem with making it RGB is that I have to use CMPR compression, and then it looks blurry like the above pic. I'm looking for a way to avoid that. Right now, I'm just making the inside of his mouth orange too as a workaround.

Was the original format CMPR or C18? If it's C18, change it back, or try it how it looks like in C18 format. If it was originally CMPR, keep it.

If there's a colour palette setting thing when replacing a texture image, put it at its highest number of palettes it has.

But uh... yeah. In my opinion it looks like a minor problem. Brawl will read it at low quality anyway, since Brawl degrades my textures into bad quality ones. x.x
