magnet recovery

ok, you all probly know that ness and lucas' psi magnet slows their fall, but if you are pushing the control stick across, you'll travel a little distance further. i find it works really well with lucas because he fall slower than ness. by repeatedly turning the magnet on and off as you tilt your control stick forward you inch your way over. it's pretty tricky doing it with ness for me, but it's good to add to their list of recoveries.

i tried that and it only resulted in a small improvement. using that method i could use lucas to cross final destination. it could possibly be more useful over greater distances?

that is what is was using. i would think that magnet method would not help unless i wanted to try recovering an extreme horizonal distance. i should try that.

It works with Lucas a lot. Only Ness once.

To try this, go to Hyrule temple and perform a hyrule temple jump. You have to use your double jump to make it as Lucas
Now try it again and use the PSI magnet and proper DI repeatedly. You should be able to make it WITHOUT your double jump.

Get DI while in the air in the direction you want to travel and make sure you have enough space under you.
PK fire the opposite direction followed by Psi Magnet.

WHOOSH.

Its also a good way to get punched in the face by a Falco/Marth/DeDeDe or someone waiting by the edge, so watch yourself.

Not to say don't do it, but watch for them to catch on.

i was trying with ness alot yesterday. On final destination I was able to do it only twice because ness is a bit heavier than Lucas, but i made it back the stage. Also, i did something weird. I did a b stick psi magnet without the b stick. I did it twice too. not really sure how i did it.

yep, that's exactly how i use it, so if i do get hit while trying to come back I stiil can use my double jump, a zap jump, and still pkt. I haven't really got into B-sticking yet, so this is what I use for now. Although, i have seen the magnet pull. very awesome indeed.
