Here's a video showcasing the balance mod I'm working on.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBdSj-6__Jw

The video is already sort of out of date since I'm working on it almost every day, but it should give you an idea of the mod's design philosophy and what sort of changes to look forward to. You can pm me on Anther's Ladder if you want to play with the mod, I have the same username on there as on here.

I made a post about this before, but just to reiterate, the mod's goal is to make melee more fun, incorporating more varied and interesting mechanics and visual effects into the game. It's perfectly playable through Netplay with all AR and Gekko codes, as far as I know, but only if both people use the same modded iso.

I'll try it out
The idea seems fun from what I've seen in the video

Just uploaded the sixth and temporarily final version of Magic Melee (v0.06), while I work on some other projects.
So far the modded characters are:
Link
Young Link
Zelda
Ganondorf
Roy
Falco
Fox
Sheik
Luigi

I've been binge-modding the last few weeks, so I need to catch up on other things, but development should resume soon!
Please feel free to message me on Anther's Ladder (same username) if you want to try it.

Hello, something you should try to start using for version is Xdelta and make a patch from the original file to the modified file, another thing I'd recommend is making a gameid for the iso by opening it up in a hex editor or editing the first few lines. This makes it so that you can have both vanilla melee and your modified melee.

Good luck.

Thanks for the tips! I edited the file in GCRebuilder and it shows up in dolphin as a different game. The GameID is still GALE01 but this doesn't seem to present any issues during normal play or netplay having both normal melee and my mod at the same time. That being said, I think it would be pretty cool give it it's own ID, I was wondering how to do that, lol.
I'll look into Xdelta, and see if I can provide more professional patches for future releases.

Falco looking light as a feather
Falco's a bird so he flies B)
Also it's actually his terminal velocity that's different, well a lot of things are different, but his weight is currently unchanged. He glides like a real bird now. B)

I'd like to test it out if I could
