Smash Wii U Lylat Cruise Exploit?

Hey guys, recently I was playing a match on Lylat Cruise when I experienced a strange occurrence while using Shulk. I went to use a dashing up smash on my opponent, dashing towards the left side of the stage. The left side of the stage was tilting downwards at this point. As I charged the upsmash, Shulk slid onto the "wing" of the stage, and it cancelled the up smash. I assume this has to do with dashes carrying horizontal momentum, thus sliding him above that chunk of the stage.
He was now airborne, so the smash vanished, and he went into a basic fall animation.

Are there any good ways to use this technique, or is it just a fluke?

Not very. The best is that the audio comes out, and your opponent reacts to it in some way you can punish. Super situational, but more options is never bad.

Now I'm no expert here, but it would certainly help with mindgames, right? I'm charging a smash - you better get in position to punish the whiffed smash! - Smash is cancelled and you attack the enemy who expected you to whiff a smash and spaced right outside.

However I'm at work and I can't test anything out by myself, but this is one scenario that I could think of.

Darn, I was hoping for something game-breaking so we can finally ban Lylat. This doesn't look useful or easily replicated.
