Thats why I almost "spam" that move, it is too good. I don't know about you but how much do you use d-smash, because I love that move.

Does too, you just use it so much that it's always massively decayed and KOs at 150%. Like your Deva match at EWU. I don't think Wigi's is the best, but it's definitely in the top 5.

I would say Wigi, Wolf, MK, Zelda, and GAW have the best dsmashes off the top of my head. I would put ROB but his sucks for killing.

And Wigi already has plenty of other KO options.

Gaa that match was so frustrating. I couldn't even believe I was losing to a Link (even though Deva is a freaking monster)... I still won the set though, after realizing I should actually use my Fsmash more for kills, this match pretty much taught me I need to focus on Fsmash for the winz.

As far as top Dsmashes go...
1) GW
2) MK
3) Wolf
4) Pika
5) ROB
...
6/7/8???) Luigi & Tink

Pika's dsmash sucks, it's freaking easy to DI out of it, in my opinion. ROB's is good but not top5.

ZSS and DK both have better dsmashes. Sheiks is arguable as well as it does about the same damage, comes out one frame faster, and is comparable as a KO move. Icies also have a good dsmash.

Luigi's is good but it's not top five.

Wishing Apex 2012 happened again.
Lol the only good thing aabout luigi's dsmash is the fact you slide with it, the tracjectorys are so random, it's hard to DI out of, and it can hit like 32% if both front and back connect. but most definitly not in top 5

Maybe top 10 because of how it can (i think) combo into b-air wop at low %s, can slide, comes out very fast, and has weird trajectories (all i know is that hitting in front of you sends them up and behind you, while hitting behind sends them mostly straight up and can ko a bit better imo)

the down smash is good for comboing. Dsmah->Bair->Bair->Bair->Bair->Super Fire Punch. The dsmash is the pretty much the only move I use on the ground. That, Fsmash and specials.

Luigi's D-smash has bad range though.

Best D-smash in the game is Zelda's. It's faster than MK's, hits pretty hard, and at a steep low angle.

Wario can move all over the place while using aerials, but they have bad range. So what if you can slide around a little while D-smashing. My point is the attack itself still has bad range.

You're joking...right? Zelda's D-smash comes out frame 4 and hits like as hard as MKs, but sends people lower.

I hope your being sarcastic because this thing is a beast. It can also hit on both sides at the early percentages for like 23% iirc. SO many uses for her dsmash I don't have time to name them all. Some characters in the game simply can't recover from this at 80%.

Well, Zelda usually is being approached by her opponent. Luigi on the other hand is a character that usually needs to approach his opponent.

I can't remember, but I'm pretty sure Zelda's D-smash has significantly better range than Luigi's. Or Mario's (and Mario's does outrange Luigi's btw).

Jab -> D-smash however is pretty good for Luigi.

Dsmash has as much range in front of him as his jabs and is only(barely) outranged by the third jab/butt that moves Luigi forward and ftilt.

I don't care to call it one of the top-5 dsmashes, just saying.

I lol'd for like 20 minutes.

If you 'can't remember,' then I'm assuming you just don't play Brawl often.

The range on Wigi's dsmash is vastly underrated.

Vastly underrated? It has less range than Mario's D-smash on both hits....which doesn't have all that much range.

Don't believe me? I tested it a long time ago. Luigi phails at breakdancing. He's so unconfident in his ability that he's scared of falling on his butt as he tries to get low on the ground. That's why it has such bad range.

It's fine out of a spotdodge if your opponent doesn't space right, but seriously, the range on it is terrible.

but like weve said, walking adds the slide to the dsmash. mario can't do that. the slide adds quite a bit of range to the dsmash. its a very usefull move.

Walking just allows Luigi to charge D-smash for an instant while approaching. w/e

Mario by the way walks a bit faster and there is no lag in using a Smash attack from walking. Both D-smashes also come out the same frame anyhow.

no, not charging, just walk fast pace then c stick down, it comes out same speed but you reatain your forward momentum while dsmashing. so the range is obviosly extended because of this.

Can't be that much though. It doesn't exactly have what I'd call a lingering hitbox.

Btw, I think my original point was other characters have significantly better D-smashes...and while Luigi's D-smash might be good, it's not close to being among the best...

yeah we know its not the best, but its VERY useful fro luigis, i think it works betetr for luigi than if he had the same downsmash as the best one.

and try out the slding dsmash. it works very well. i think your underestimating it. much like you probably underestimate the goldy sliding up angled fsmash---reversed.

I know sliding Up-smash is good. You can charge a Hyphen Smash to punish something laggy from quite a distance and benefit from being able to charge the Up-smash.

Meh, I don't like most of Luigi's other sliding options though. =/

i SPIKED with it today, like, on battlefeild. not a stage spike. a spike. he didn't topuch the ground at all strait to death. friggen guy survived until 7 seconds afetr 3 min so i couldn't record FRIG i wantd that in my combo vid. if i ever made a new one

Lol sorry HeroMystic, I'm just being a prick cause I saw someone putting Luigi's D-smash like among the top 5 or something...

Oh whoops, sliding F-smash. I suck at reading. <.<

I guess I can see how it would be useful...I mean where you cover some distance during the F-smash's windup frames....
